European roofing techniques are some of the oldest and best in the world. Tile and slate
roofs in particular have been known to last 300 years and longer in Europe, due in large part to the quality of
craftsmanship that goes into its application.

We here at DACA do not admonish the fact that we are not the cheapest roofer you can find.
Nor are we the most expensive. We strive to provide a quality product at a fair price, always. We urge you to
learn about and carefully consider the type of roof you are interested in before making a purchase. Investing in
a good roof and a good roofing contractor are invaluable to the future of your home or business.
We would like to explain some of the techniques we use in applying different types of roofing
as well as some of the aspects of the materials themselves. We adamantly feel that understanding how a particular
roof is applied and why it is applied that way is the first and most important step to installing and owning a
quality roof that will last through generations.
People invest large amounts of money in their homes, their furniture, in art, entertainment
and so on, but give little thought to the roof. Your roof is the first line of defense against the elements. It
can be beautiful as well as functional. It is important to realize the difference quality roofing products and,
more importantly, the quality of installation of that roof. After all, do you want to buy a price or a quality
product?
Materials We Use
Duro-Last -
Duro-Last is a single-ply, PVC membrane that is mechanically fastened to the roof using screws and heat-welding.
It is primarily a commercial product, but works beautifully on very low-sloped residential roofs. Duro-Last comes
in three colors: white, grey and tan.
Gutters: Copper and Zinc -
Gutters are an important part of any roofing system, and copper and zinc gutters are the best there are. They not
only look stunning, but also have a durability and pliability far exceeding that of standard aluminum. This
combined with proper installation will ensure your gutters will last for years to come.
Fiberglass Panels -
Fiberglass panels are a molded, polyester fiberglass design that is lightweight, shock resistant and nearly
unbreakable making it a superior roofing solution no matter where you live. The material is dyed all the way
through for increased color longevity and comes in a variety of colors and styles that imitate slate or tile. The
panels can even be interchanged to create distinct patterns unique to your roof.
Metal, Copper and Zinc -
Metal, copper and zinc roofs are all solid, sturdy materials and can be easy to install compared to their tile and
slate counterparts. Copper and zinc in particular carry a look of refinement and sophistication on either home or
commercial property.
3-Tab and Architectural Shingles -
Shingle roofs are far and wide the most commonly used roofing material in the United States, coming in an extensive
variety of styles and colors to match nearly every taste. Shingle roofs are inexpensive compared to the other roof
types and installation is usually goes fast, a major bonus for anyone without a lot of time or money to spare.
Most small to medium size houses can be finished in just a few days. There are two basic types of shingle roof:
3-Tab and Architectural(AR).
Slate -
Slate roofs are the epitome of refinement and elegance, with an unmistakable look that will last the lifetime of
the home it is built upon. Without question, slate roofs are the best type of roof you can install. Depending on
the type, properly installed slate roofs have a life expectancy of at least 100 years.
Tile: Clay and Concrete -
Tile comes in a variety of styles, from flat, slate-like panels to the quintessential s-curve panel. Colors are
rich and varied. A good tile roof will last for generations. Anyone seeking a refined, elegant look for his or her
home or business should consider clay or concrete tile. Properly installed clay tile roofs have a lifespan of at
least 50 years and can last 300 or more.
